LIBRARY ACTIVITIES 2025-2026
Library activities for this academic year started with preparation and submission of a comprehensive plan of activities grade wise for regular classes and also special event slated to motivate students to become voracious readers and lifelong learners.
ORIENTATION SESSIONS:
Motivational sessions were conducted for the students across all classes and the importance of reading books was highlighted.
LIBRARIANS’ DAY:
On 21st August 2025 our school observed Librarian’s day to commemorate and honor Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, Father of Library Science in India. An assembly talk was given by Library Secretary and Deputy Secretary. Dr. S.R. Ranganathan’s vision and elements of Library Science were displayed for the students to read. Students of class XI volunteered and performed as Librarian on that day. They guided the library classes with lot of interesting information which other students enjoyed.
ONE SCHOOL READING TOGETHER:
One School Reading Together programme was organized on 3rd September 2025, to promote the joy and habit of reading. Posters and prior communication ensured wide participation, and the entire school community—from KG children with their parents to Class XII students, office staff, and support staff—read together from 9.15 to 9.45 am. The programme began with an address by the Librarian, followed by motivational messages from teachers and student leaders, and a pledge to be lifelong readers. Reading sessions were conducted across all sections in classrooms, the reading hall, and the basketball court, creating a vibrant reading atmosphere. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, leaving a lasting impact and successfully fostering a love for reading among all.
LIBRARY WEEK:
‘National Library Week’ celebrations were held from 10th to 14th November 2025. The Library Week gave an opportunity to reignite the magic of reading and creating a culture of celebrating books among students through well-thought-out activities.
Gamified learning zones (Learning based fun games) provided an opportunity and encouragement to the students to read more books, apply their creativity to bring out wonderful learning games based on the books and also to apply 21st century skills like critical thinking, problem solving, innovation and creativity, team work, communication etc.
A special highlight of the celebration was the visit of our proud alumna, Ms. Aishwarya Ramesh, from Hindu Senior Secondary School, who graced the occasion as the chief guest. She interacted warmly with the students and encouraged them to cultivate reading habit and explore knowledge beyond textbooks.
The Library Week celebrations served as a meaningful reminder of the vital role libraries play as centers of learning, imagination, and personal growth.
