The school is situated in the heart of Indiranagar, Adyar, and a two storied structure consisting of 6 blocks. It has in all 68 class rooms, well ventilated, airy with adequate furniture. The school has a new spacious Indoor auditorium with seating capacity of 1000.

Library Rules

  • All the students and staff are members of the school library.
  • Absolute silence should be maintained inside the library during the time of reading / referring, borrowing and returning of the books.
  • Student’s personal belongings i.e. bags, Tiffin carriers should be kept outside the library. Students are not allowed to bring their text books and other story books, reference books inside the Library.
  • Students are allowed to borrow only one book per ticket and retain it for a period of 7 days.
  • Reference books cannot be taken out of the library under any circumstances.
  • If the book borrowed is not returned on the due date, a fine of Rs. 1/- per day will be levied.
  • Students are required to examine the book at the time of borrowing and report to the Librarian if there is any damage / missing of pages or picture etc.
  • Sub-lending is prohibited. (Borrowers should not pass/give the book obtained from the school library to others).
  • Students take care of the book safely and should not do marking, underlining in the book or cause any other damage to the book.
  • If the books are lost / damaged / handled carelessly, fine will be collected from the borrower or a replacement copy of the same book will be collected. The decision of the Principal in this matter shall be final and binding.
  • Students misbehaving inside the library will be severely punished.
  • Library books will be issued class wise.
  • Pupils of classes IX to XII should return the borrowed books on or before 20th February. Similarly students of other classes should return the books on or before March 15. Books will not be issued during the summer vacation.

ACADEMIC EVALUATION

The primary goal of the academic evaluation system is to inspire every student to perform to the best of their abilities. Apart from the two Terminal Examinations, a student’s performance is continuously assessed by conducting monthly tests, periodic tests & other subject enrichment activities.

PERIODIC ASSESSMENT

(i) Periodic Tests: The school will conduct three periodic written tests in the entire academic year and the average of the best two will be taken. The gradually increasing portion of contents would prepare students acquire confidence for appearing in the Board examination with 100% syllabus.

(ii) Note Book Submission: Notebook submission as a part of internal assessment is aimed at
enhancing seriousness of students towards preparing notes for the topics being taught in the classroom as well as assignments. This also addresses the critical aspect of regularity, punctuality, neatness and notebook upkeep.

(iii) Subject Enrichment Activities: These are subject specific application activities aimed at enrichment of the understanding and skill development. These activities are recorded internally by respective subject teachers.

For Languages: Activities conducted for subject enrichment in languages aim at equipping the learner to develop effective speaking and listening skills.

For Mathematics: The listed laboratory activities and projects as given in the prescribed publication of CBSE/NCERT is followed.

For Science: The listed practical works/ activities are carried out as prescribed by the CBSE in the curriculum.

For Social Science: Map and project work is undertaken as prescribed by the CBSE in the curriculum.

GRADING SCALE – SCHOLASTIC AREA

Students of Classes Upto IX will be assessed on a 8 point scale (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2,D, E) and for Class X, XI & XII as per the CBSE guidelines.

A WORD TO PARENTS

  1. We believe in the dictum that THE PARENTS ARE THE FIRST TEACHERS AND THE TEACHERS ARE THE SECOND PARENTS.
  2. Go through your child’s hand book daily for any message for you.
  3. Keep track of the daily progress of your child and take remedial action wherever necessary.
  4. Criticism of a student’s teacher or the school in the presence of the child may please be avoided as it may cause the student to lose respect for the teacher and the school.
  5. Parents are welcome to see the Principal between 8.45 a.m. and 9.30 a.m. and 3.45 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. on all working days.
  6. Parents may meet the teachers only after obtaining permission from the Principal.
  7. Meeting the teachers during the class hours is strictly prohibited.
  8. The school teachers are not to take tuitions for their own class students. So do not embarrass them with requests to teach your wards privately.
  9. If a child fails to reach the school on time and does not attend the assembly, he/she will be sent back home.
  10. Encourage your child to put in cent percent attendance.
  11. After every terminal examination, the parents of those students who have not performed well, may be required to meet the principal to take the progress reports in person at the appointed time, which will be intimated through the hand book.
  12. The School periodically organizes parent-teacher meetings and talks are arranged on child education and child welfare. Attendance of at least one of the parents in such meetings will render such activities productive and useful.
  13. Parents should allocate some time regularly for interacting with their wards on all matters pertaining to their education and academic career.
  14. Kindly inform the school any change in address and telephone numbers.
  15. Parents are requested to attend the OPEN DAY sessions without fail and respond to the invitation for all the school functions. They should encourage their wards to take part in all the co-curricular and extracurricular contests in the school.

GENERAL RULES

  1. Attendance is compulsory on last working day and on re-opening day before / after any break / vacation, failing which student will not be allowed to attend the school without permission from the Principal.
  2. Every student must bring the hand book to the school daily.
  3. Students must be in the school premises at least 10 minutes before the first bell.
  4. Late comers will be fined unless there is a genuine reason.
  5. Every student must come to school in full school uniform on all school days including test and examination days.
  6. Students are requested to keep themselves neat and clean.
  7. Hair and nails must be neatly maintained and trimmed regularly. Girls with long hair should braid it in neat plaits bound with ribbons. Fancy hair clips and nail polish are discouraged.
  8. Students should take care of their books and belongings.
  9. Students should not wear costly jewels and ornaments and not bring valuables to school.
  10. Purchase of food articles from roadside vendors is to be avoided totally.
  11. All students are expected to take part in co-curricular activities of the school as part of their education.
  12. School games and exercises are compulsory for all except in case of exemption for medical reasons supported by certificates from recognized medical practitioners.
  13. No student suffering from a contagious or infectious disease will be allowed to attend school.
  14. Parents and guardians are requested not to see the children or meet the teachers during the class hours.
  15. Irregular attendance, indifference to studies, misbehaviour in the classrooms, arrogance and lack of respect to the teacher, cheating of any kind, serious misconduct and the like, are to be avoided completely.
  16. Tests and examinations should be taken on the specified days. No separate test will be conducted for absentees.
  17. Parents are requested to contact office for all routine transactions.
  18. Assignments, note books and other such records are to be produced on the specified dates without fail.
  19. Parents must ensure that their wards do not carry / use CD’s, Mobile Phone, iPads & Electrical Gadgets.
  20. Students should bring their lunch / snacks, water bottle along with them in the morning itself. Parents will not be permitted to hand over the lunch boxes / packets etc. during school hours.
  21. Only the parent / authorized guardian (as intimated to the school in writing) should sign the progress report, leave letter or any intimation letter to the school.
  22. No student is allowed to leave the school premises during short break and Lunch time.
