THE MAKING OF isa…

As we sit down to pen our thoughts on the wonderful journey of the ISA, we are filled with a sense of pride and achievement over what we have experienced over the past few months.

The journey began with its planning and approval of 10 project plus 3 additional projects as early as April 2013. Having already been a part of the earlier ISA, the teachers were very comfortable and ready to take on the next challenge as the projects got closer to classrooms this year. This was because all the topics chosen and approved by the British Council were curriculum based and related activities further enhanced classroom learning.

All activities, whether with pen/paper, visits to learning centers or outdoor physical activities, were well planned and executed with ease.

Students actively engaged themselves in chart making/model making/PPT Presentations/role plays/onstage performances and Skype calls with enthusiasm.

All staff members rose to the occasion and put in their best efforts to complete the projects as per the schedule drawn. Such activities brought with it the feeling of Internationalism into the classrooms, adding global dimensions to everyday learning. It also made us, the teachers, more tech-savvy as we had to use modern/latest technology to keep pace with the changing global scenario.

The entire school put in great efforts and team spirit for the on-stage performances and the exhibition which was held in our school premises on the 8th/16th of November 2013 and made it a grand success. This was possible only because of the whole- hearted support and participation of the parents.

Many foreigners and high profile personalities visited our school in connection with the events of the ISA and encourages us with their positive feed backs.

The ISA has moulded both the students and the staff to take on new challenges, and has given a new dimension to the way things are perceived. It has also brought us closer to schools in UK, US, Colombo and Thailand and has given us a feeling of belonging to the global community and families.

The family of The Hindu Senior Secondary School now stands proud of what we have achieved over the past 3 years with our earlier ISA and is ready to take on what is in store with the on-going ISA, confident of reaching greater heights.
